Romanian Darkgaze act Faunlet has unleashed his video for “PSYFI”, a haunting piece of electronic music infused with a barrage of metallic percussion overlaid with crooning vocals that give way to guitars that evoke a dissociative resignation.
Regarding his video, which looks as if it was filmed within the azure haze of Neptune, Faunlet explains:
“It’s 100% DIY, filmed and edited by myself, experimenting with different cameras, lenses, lights, and liquids.
I wanted to capture the mood and the concept of the whole album, which is both primordial and futuristic.

Formed in 2012 in Bucharest, Romania, Faunlet is the moniker of Petru Stoica, the singer, and songwriter of the helming the act. With his music he is constantly experimenting with genres and sounds, making it difficult to put any particular label on the musical style. Some might say it’s a weird mixture of post-punk, shoegaze, and goth, while Faunlet himself has christened it as being “Darkgaze”.
Despite the Darkwave and post-punk background, Faunlet’s musical influences are cited as being from some of the best dark alternative acts of the 1990s, such as The Smashing Pumpkins, PJ Harvey, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Anohni, Hole, and QueenAdreena (aka Daisey Chainsaw).
“PSYFI” is the title track on Faunlet’s latest five-track EP from a career that spans the past decade.
