Depeche Mode have begun a campaign to release special multi-disc box sets containing audiophile grade 12 inch vinyls of the each of the band’s singles from each of their albums, starting with their 1981 debut Speak & Spell and its 1982 follow-up, A Broken Frame.

These first two sets will be released on August 31st via Rhino Records for the price of $59.98, and include a replica poster and download card.

The audio for each included single has been remastered at Abbey Road studios from the original tapes. Additionally, each single will be packaged in a reproduction of their original vinyl artwork, with the boxes housing the lot featuring artwork that “draws on street art iconography inspired by the original releases,” according to Rhino.

The Speak & Spell set features a bonus replica of a 1981 Flexipop magazine split Flexi-disc that features both Depeche Mode’s “Sometimes I Wish I Was Dead” and Fad Gadget’s “King of the Flies”.

Rhino Records promises that this series will continue with each of the band’s studio albums, so the next one to be released should be 1983’s Construction Time Again.
