Boston Coldwave Duo True Faith Dive into Hypnogogic Delirium in “Waiting on the Wrong Time”

Boston-based coldwave duo True Faith have unveiled their video for “Waiting on the Wrong Time”, a new single following “Feel”, which was released this past summer.

The song is a hypnogogic delirium with a resonant and brooding vocal croon that floats in a veil of contextual and melodic synths, dreamlike guitars, and a propulsive bass line.

In this spellbinding new track, True Faith explores a darker and fuller sound, delving into themes of atypical depression and interpersonal struggle. The music video was directed and edited by Travis Benson, filmed by Quentin Moyer, features lighting by Dylan Kotliar, and the song was mixed and mastered by Will Killingsworth at Dead Air Studios.

Watch the video below:

True Faith is a Boston-based duo consisting of Travis Benson (Flesh of Morning) and Quentin Moyer. The project originally started as a solo endeavor of Benson as a way to explore his interest in early coldwave music. He began work on the project’s debut release on the old power electronics imprint, NIF; a four-track EP of dark synth-heavy music influenced by the likes of Clan of Xymox, Trisomie 21, and Nada!-era Death In June.

Shortly after recording the True Faith EP, Benson enlisted the help of Moyer to add a greater sense of fullness to the sound. The duo met each other when they moved to Boston in 2018 for school. Both members grew up playing in various punk bands on opposite sides of the country. Together, they are crafting multi-instrumental songs that draw influence from the early industrial works of Severed Heads to the polished synthpop songs New Order.

The latest single “Waiting on the Wrong Time” is one of the songs that comprise True Faith’s forthcoming debut LP, As Much Nothing As Possible, set for release on A La Carte Records.
