The Cure & And Also The Trees played their final gig of a 3 night stand in London tonight. The series of 3 shows were in celebration of the 30th anniversary of The Top, which had come out April 30th, 1984. Watch above a performance from The Barrowland Ballroom, Glasgow, on August 25th, 1984—featuring Phil Thornally on Bass, Andy Anderson on Drums, Porl Thompson on guitar, and Lol Tolhurst on keyboards.

The setlist at tonight’s Hammersmith Apollo gig was fairly similar to the prior 2 evenings, with the exceptions of Sleep When I’m Dead (a 2008 single, but originally written for The Head on The Door), and Friday I’m In Love & Doing the Unstuck (both from “Wish”) added to the repertoire. The songs alt.end, High, Before Three, Hungry Ghost, Let’s Go to Bed were not played tonight.

Now with the 2014 celebration of 30 years of “The Top” over, 2015 sees the 30th anniversary of a watershed moment in The Cure’s career, the release of The Head on The Door, which skyrocketed the band to international success. I am willing to bet we will see a Head on The Door set as part of the next upcoming gigs from Robert Smith and Co. I’d like to hear The Blood, how about you? In the meantime, check out the Setlist from tonight’s show (thanks Chain of Flowers!) and Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Post-Punk.com!
