Following the premiere of breathtaking pk-callout track “Signals”, German post-punk band Holygram return with another video from their upcoming album Modern Cults.
The video for “A Faction” has been revealed as the band are about to embark on an extensive tour with VNV Nation across Europe and North America.
The song and video, directed by Jan-Peter Horns, reflect a different relationship with music than experienced in a club or concert venue. In the video we see our silent protagonist explore an empty cityscape in the magical predawn hours, interwoven with images of shattered glass and surreal animation by Alison Flora.
Elaborating on the themes, Holygram explains:
“‘A Faction’ describes the strange and fragile relationship we have with the city we live in. The reasons why we stroll in its streets at night, the sounds, the lights. The urge for something that lurks out there. It is a search for identity, a dangerous journey into urban terrors.
We are excited to bring our idea of a soundtrack for a city at twilight to 40 different places in Europe and America on an enormous tour with VNV Nation starting Oct 12 (Today!). There will be fog!”
Modern Cults is out November 9th via SPV and Cleopatra Records.
