Icelandic Post-Punk Trio Kælan Mikla Unveil Their Witch Song

Icelandic post-punk witches Kælan Mikla have unveiled one of the best tracks yet, with the upbeat and quite possibly anthemic “Nornalagið”, whose title translates into “Witch Song”.

With this, the band are living up to the legacy of Kukl—Iceland’s most well known post-punk band, famously fronted by Björk. Kukl translates into ” those who practice sorcery”, which in the case with the spellbinding “Nornalagið” whose conjuring beats, ethereal synths, and wailing vocals burn like a warm invocation during a brumal bruja’s sabbat.

Watch the band perform the track live at Iceland’s Myrkramakt II.

“Nornalagið” is featured on the band’s upcoming third full length album Nótt eftir nótt (“Night After Night”)which is set for release digitally on November 9th via Artoffact Records.

A first edition pressing on milky-clear vinyl ships on December 7, 2018. The sleeve includes beautiful spot-varnish  and comes with a heavy-weight insert.
