Nick Cave spots Primal Scream’s Bobbie Gillespie in audience for spontaneous show-closing duet

On both the US and European legs of the Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds world tour in support of Lovely Creatures: The Best of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds,  Nick Cave has been making a trademark end to his shows by inviting the audience to ascend the stage for an exuberant version of his lovingly vulgar single “Stagger Lee,” which then goes on to transition into the more sober “Push the Sky Away”, where the Caveman then makes his descent into the audience.

As it is not uncommon to spot Nick Cave hanging out with Primal Screams’ Bobbie Gillespie while in London—especially watching designer Pam Hogg’s show during fashion week—it is exceedingly charming to see Cave spot his friend Gillespie during this particular London gig’s crowd excursion.

 “Bobby! Bobby Gillespie… Fuck, man…”

After Cave finds Gillespie in the crows the two frontmen embrace and the mic is passed onto Gillespie who then continues the chorus to “Push The Sky Away” leaving Cave to thank him before he ascends back onto the stage.

This performance marks Bobby Gillespie’s second spontaneous live collaboration this year, following his reuniting with The Jesus And Mary Chain to perform songs from their album Psychocandy at a recent festival gig.
