New Order premieres new song ‘Plastic’

When Bernard Sumner said he wanted to compose more electronic music for the next New Order album, he wasn’t kidding.  Last night, Bernard Sumner and Co. opened their short U.S. tour  premiering the new Italo-Disco song  inspired “Plastic” (see video above).    When New Order toured South America earlier this year, the band debuted “Singularity”. In contrast to “Plastic”, “Singularity” is more classic post-punk song and the first composed without Peter Hook song and the first new track since the Waiting for the Sirens’ Call.

Check out “Singularity” below:

(Thank you to Ricardo Fernandes for the fan video for “Plastic”)

New Order’s tour continues Thursday in Milwaukee (see dates below).

New Order tour dates:

July 3: Summerfest, Milwaukee, WI
July 6: Paramount, Seattle, WA
July 8: Orpheum, Vancouver, BC
July 11: Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, San Francisco, CA
July 13: Greek Theatre, Los Angeles, CA
