New York Composer/Producer Zachery Allan Starkey is making his Berlin debut on October 8th at The Maze, where he performs with up and coming Chinese electronic music act Stolen, who are supporting New Order on their October European tour dates.
Starkey himself supported New Order for their US tour in promotion of the band’s last studio Music Complete, including a spectacular sold-out show at Manhattan’s Radio City Music Hall.
Under his ZGRT alias, Starkey also produced the powerful political club track HARD POWER with Gavin Rayna Russom of LCD Soundsystem and Black Meteoric Star.
Starkey is currently completing a studio project with New Order’s Bernard Sumner, and he recently remixed the Stolen single “Chaos” for the venerable Japanese Techno label U/M/A/A. Starkey’s New York City Boy Remix is part of a remix package that also includes remixes from Japanese techno legend Takkyu Ishino and Mark Reeder, the highly influential founder of Berlin based label MFS.
Zachery Allan Starkey’s new album, two years in the making, will be released in early 2020, and features more collaboration with electronic music pioneers. 2020 may also see the return of C//TY CLUB, the queer Brooklyn Techno/art party Starkey cofounded with producers Lauren Flax and Gavin Rayna Russom.
Zachary Allan Starkey performs in at Maze in Berlin on October 8th with his longtime synth player Laura Holden and Berlin resident Aiden Berglund.
