[dropcap]M[/dropcap]odern English are crowdfunding their first new album with the original lineup in 30 years. We saw the 4AD records legends in Berlin earlier this year, and they blew us away! Along with “Life in the Gladhouse”, Robbie Grey and Co even played “Gathering Dust”, and Colin Newman’s “Not Me”, which I never thought that I, as a This Mortal Coil fan, would ever hear live.
See the link to the crowdfunding campaign below, and a list of North American tourdates for their Mesh and Lace tour—where they will certainly be playing songs from that album, “early 4AD material”, and “Pop songs” as they put it, such as “Someone’s Calling”, and “I Melt with You”—a song about two people literally melting into one from the effects of a nuclear bomb. Oh the music licensing irony!
