Shotgun Wedding, produced by J.G. Thirlwell, was orginally released in 1991 through Triple X records, and is the only studio album by Lydia Lunch and Rowland S. Howard. The album features cover versions of the gospel song”In My Time of Dying” and Alice Cooper’s “Black Juju”. This is not the first time Howard and Lunch had worked together, as there was a time that Nick Cave, Howard, Harvey, Lunch, and Thirlwell collaborated on Honeymoon in Red during the final days of The Birthday Party in 1982 (Lunch and Howard also released their infamous version of Lee Hazelwood’s Some Velvet Morning as a 12 inch single during The Honeymoon in Red period).
Today Shotgun Wedding has been reissued on vinyl through 1972 Records, and would make a great last minute wedding gift.
