Into the Flames, the second single from Kristy Chmura’s forthcoming album Inner Solstice, blazes with urgency, its intensity built on layers of precision and passion. Kristy creates a distinctive artistic point of view, by writing songs pertaining to the human condition infused with an alternative style.
The track unfurls from a delicate acoustic reverie—voice and harp entwined in hushed intimacy—before surging into an arena-sized rock anthem. At its core, Christian Eigner, renowned for his thunderous presence performing live with Depeche Mode, lays down a foundation of powerful drums, dynamic arrangements, and rich organ swells. Niko Stoessl injects the track with pulsing programming and layered keys while sculpting the mix into something expansive and unwavering. Damien Musto’s guitars slice through the composition with razor-sharp clarity, amplifying the song’s transformation. Chmura, the creative force behind it all, wrote the song, performed all vocals, and played the harp, weaving a sonic metamorphosis that bridges introspection and grandeur.
“The creative process feels like a band working together,” Chmura reflects. “All four of us add our musical influences to my song which creates music full of depth, energy and interesting elements.”
Chmura’s velvety voice and harp glow in the opening moments, delicate as drifting embers, before the song ignites, swelling with defiance. Guitars strike, drums crash, each note driving forward like a step toward renewal. What starts in solitude builds into something fierce, unshaken. Into the Flames burns through hesitation, rising with power, carrying echoes of Florence and the Machine, Marina, Annie Lennox, and Dead Can Dance. A quiet reckoning with existence becomes a firestorm, consuming doubt, clearing the way for transformation.
“Fire can be destructive, but fire is also transformative—like the phoenix that rises from the ashes, this song speaks to that inner warrior,” explains Chmura.
The video, directed by Julia Schnarr, unfolds like an ancient ritual, candles casting restless light as Chmura calls out, voice rising, body swaying in hypnotic rhythm with something ancient and untamed. The air shimmers with heat, a celebration of strength, a reckoning of spirit. This is no passive invocation: it is power reclaimed, energy unleashed, a hymn to the divine feminine. The fire illuminates the depth, the endurance, the unshaken force of a woman standing in her own power.
