Depeche Mode forced to cancel gig due to Hurricane

Due to aftermath of Hurricane Irma, Depeche Mode have announced that they have had no choice but to cancel their Wednesday night concert at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater in Tampa, Florida—with the possibility of the additional cancellation of their Friday night gig in Miami.

The band made the following via their official website:

“We’re disappointed to announce that due to the impact of Hurricane Irma on Tampa, we have been forced to cancel the September 13 show at the MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheater. With our partners at Live Nation, we have looked at all options available to avoid cancelling the show, including moving the show to an alternate venue, but at this time we cannot guarantee a venue that will be ready and adequately staffed for a safe and successful show, so we have no choice but to cancel. We apologize to all fans who were planning on attending the Tampa show and we send our thoughts for a quick recovery to the people of Tampa and all of Florida.

Our hope is that we will be able to maintain our show Miami on Friday, and we will make another announcement later this week as the cleanup and recovery continues in Miami and the feasibility of the show is better known.”

Ticket holders of the Tampa show will be able to obtain refunds at their point of purchase.
