The reunion of shoegaze legends Ride might be a bit of a distraction these days for frontman Mark Gardener. However, this weekend Mr. Gardener announced that his long-in-the-works album with Cocteau Twins guitarist Robin Guthrie titled Universal Road is no longer a vapour trail, and will be released this coming March.

Gardener tweeted that announcement on Saturday, offering no concrete information as to a specific release date or tracklisting. We had previously spoke to Robin Guthrie regarding Universal Road and his first collaboration with Mark Gardener, “The Places We Go” (above) in an interview here.

UPDATE 2/3/15: Darla Records has begun taking pre-orders on Universal Road, which will be released March 24.
