Berlin-based solo artist Anna Nin has premiered the first video from her solo project None. The track Nothing is Right is unsettling and atmospheric—with imagery to match the ill feeling evoked by melodies and visuals that are indeed…not quite right. According to a the record’s press release, the song expresses the ceaseless battle with depression that inspires Anna’s songwriting.
The video was made by Nils Helling, a filmmaker located in Berlin who Anna met during her school years in the Northwest German town of Leer.
The name ‘None’ refers to the liturgy of the hours because of a the Catholic upbringing and bad memories that remain from growing up in a small religious region of Northern Germany. None also stands for the ninth tone of a scale.
Anna has previously self-released material such as the EPs Narcomania, Abyss, and Alienari. Her first official Album‚ Vacuum was released by Berlin label Black Verb Records this past June, followed by the full length casette tape Feather through the UK based label Death of a Factor.
