Four friends from Western Victoria, Australia have come together with a promising new post-punk act Shock Friendly—a band who in their authenticity evoke the bravado of early to mid-80s Batcave come John Hughes era heroes such as Flesh for Lulu.
The single “Take What You Want” is a paramount example of this, with its one-two punch guitar hook displaying genius in its glorious two-note simplicity.
As for the video for “Take What You Want”—the clip, wrapped in atmospheric fog, was shot directed by James Thomson on super 16mm film in a 200-year-old cemetery made for Irish settlers in rural Victoria.
