Will They or Won’t They in Italian Darkwave act Sorry, Heels’ Video for “Follow Signs”

Italian Darkwave act Sorry,Heels, unfurls an intriguing new track called Follow Signs, from their new album SHE (Shades of Sound / Wave Records).

The album is dedicated to the narrative journey of a woman who faces infatuation, falling in love, disappointment, and frustration. Both the lyrics and the sounds were written in an attempt to evoke all the various stages she has endured.

“Getting lost in thoughts and no longer being able to decipher attitudes, words or glances. In those moments of loneliness and frustration, at night scared, you try to cling to something above, in the universe, looking for those signals that can point you in the right direction,” says the band.

Follow Signs is a hypnotic journey through the maddening limbo of “will they won’t they,” with its repetitive sing-song pattern and eerie synths detailing the need for divine intervention to guide us on the right path. Are they the one? Or a rest stop along the way?

The song was produced by Filippo Strang at VDSS Studio, featuring Bubi (Flying Vaginas, Charlotte Oaks), Wellworn Banana (Flying Vaginas), and Strang himself (Flying Vaginas, Stranger Paws) as instrumentalists.

The mysterious, psychedelic and Jungian video was self-produced and directed, with editing and post-production by Davide Messina. Delving into the realm of the subconscious, bombarded with symbols and signs, one must interpret the right ones for the correct path.

Sorry, Heels were born in Frosinone (Italy) in 2010. With a fresh lineup change, the band marks a radical change in their sound, abandoning rock standards and diverting their compositions towards electronic music referencing new wave and early post-punk. The relaxed and sensual SHEinvokes dream and synth-pop influences with ethereal and suffused atmospheres.

After two self-produced EPs, 2013’s Wasted and Distances (2014), their first album, The Accuracy of Silence, was released on the Finnish label Gothic Music Records in 2015. SHE is due out in 2021.

Produced by Filippo Strang at VDSS Studio, “She” features Bubi (Flying Vaginas, Charlotte Oaks), Wellworn Banana (Flying Vaginas), and Strang himself (Flying Vaginas, Stranger Paws) as instrumentalists.

SHE is set for release on CD and digital on 25 May, via Shades of Sound Records/Wave Records. Order Here
