Their brilliant new single, The Story is a jangling, complex masterpiece of a breakup song, rife with passionate guitar work and a satisfying wall of sound belying the wrenching emotions behind the lyrics. There is a New Romantic twist to this song, with its bright, yelping vocals and chorus. The Story is infectious, danceable, and a jolly mask concealing hidden heartbreak and resignation.
