On October 2nd., New Order are set to release a “definitive edition” box set of their second studio album Power, Corruption & Lies through Rhino Records.

Originally issued in 1983, this new edition of Power, Corruption & Lies will be re-released in a five-disc multi-format box set that will include 13 previously unreleased tracks from the group’s writing sessions and BBC appearances.

Pre-Order Here

Watch below Bernard Sumner, Peter Hook, Stephen Morris, and Gillian Gilbert of New Order talk about the story behind their second studio album Power, Corruption and Lies, from working together to creating a new sound and direction for the band.

Also on October 2nd, four 12-inch singles from the 1983-84 era, “Blue Monday,” “Confusion,” “Thieves Like Us” and “Murder” —will be reissued as well.

The Power, Corruption & Lies box set will include the album, remastered for the first time from the original analog tapes, on both CD and vinyl. The second CD, labeled Extras, includes previously unreleased versions of the album’s songs from the writing sessions for the record and John Peel session outtakes.

The DVDs include several live performances from concerts in 1982 and 1983, as well as TV appearances and the infamous New Order edition of the “Play At Home” documentary made for Channel 4 in 1984, noteworthy for featuring Tony Wilson waxing philosophical in a Hot Tub (as seen in the promotional artwork below).

The box set features new art design by Peter Saville, and also includes a 48-page hardback book collecting rare photographs and original text collated by Warren Jackson.

Here’s the full tracklist for the box set below, as well as the individual 12-inch single releases.
