‘Walk Away’ performed by The Sisters of Mercy for first time in 32 years

At London’s Roundhouse on Friday and Saturday night, The Sisters of Mercy opened their fall European tour with some surprise additions to their setlist. This included the First and Last and Always era Sisters track “Walk Away”—performed live for the first time since the legendary Wake gig that closed out the classic Sisters era at the Royal Albert Hall on June 18th, 1985.

Also on the setlist was a cover of Mision of Burma’s 1981 post-punk gem off of their Ep Signals, Calls and Marches, “That’s When I Reach For My Revolver” and a cover of Link Wray’s 1958 instrumental track “Rumble”.

Additionally, Eldritch and co dusted off the 1984 single Body and Soul for it’s first live performance since 1991.

“New” songs that have been a part of the Sisters live set for quite some time were also included (see below)—but whether Andrew Eldritch will make good on his promise to release these as part of an LP in response to Trump’s election, remains to be seen, but is doubtful at this point.

TSOM are in Brussels tonight, for the first of two gigs in the Belgian city on their European Tour itinerary.
