On October 12th, 1981, Irish Post-Punker’s U2 released their second studio album October (produced by Steve Lillywhite). The record placed an emphasis on the band’s Christianity and spirituality—showcasing such ideas in the songs “Gloria” (featuring a Latin chorus of “Gloria, in te domine”), “With a Shout (Jerusalem)”, and “Tomorrow”.
“Gloria” (see video above) was one of the album’s 2 singles, along with “Fire”.
