Watch a half-hour special interview (above) with host Muriel Gray where she interviews Morrissey about the album.
On September 28th, 1987, The Smiths released their fourth and final studio album Strangeways, Here We Come (named after the Manchester Prison). The sleeve was designed by Morrissey and features a shot of East of Eden co-star Richard Davalos—where Davalos is looking at Morrissey’s personal hero—James Dean who is cropped from the image.
The album features the singles “Girlfriend in a Coma”,
“I Started Something I Couldn’t Finish”,
“Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me”,
and “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before”.
