On September 28th, 1987, The Smiths released their fourth and final studio album Strangeways, Here We Come (named after the Manchester Prison). The sleeve was designed by Morrissey and features a shot of East of Eden co-star Richard Davalos—where Davalos is looking at Morrissey’s personal hero—James Dean who is cropped from the image.
The album features the singles “Girlfriend in a Coma”,
“I Started Something I Couldn’t Finish”,
“Last Night I Dreamt That Somebody Loved Me”,
and “Stop Me If You Think You’ve Heard This One Before”.
