Is She Really Going Out With Him?
Punk legends The Damned are set to tour the UK in 2021 with their original line-up. The band’s founding members, Vocalist Dave Vanian, Drummer Rat Scabies, Bassist Captain Sensible, and Guitarist Brian James, are scheduled to play four shows next July, tickets are on sale this Friday, the 23rd of October from 10 AM British time.
These four shows have been booked in celebration of the 45th anniversary of The Damned’s debut single “New Rose”, a song which has the honor of being the first UK punk single ever released.
The concerts are scheduled in London, Birmingham, Glasgow, and Manchester, with setlists composed of the band’s first two albums which featured the founding lineup:, Damned Damned Damned and Music for Pleasure.
This is surprising news for fans of The Damned, who have followed the decades-long feud between the camps of Vanian and Sensible, with James and Scabies.
The last time the original lineup shared the stage together was 1991, and Scabies hasn’t performed with The Damned since the release of Not of This Earth in late 1995.
