Punk legends The Damned have announced a series of Southern California tour dates this May, following the release of two singles, “The Invisible Man” and “Beware of the Clown,” from their upcoming 12th studio album, Darkadelic. The Damned’s Southern California tour will feature special guests, The Dictators, and includes stops in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Ventura, Anaheim, and San Diego.
The Damned’s current lineup consists of Dave Vanian, Captain Sensible, Paul Gray, Monty Oxymoron, and new drummer William Granville-Taylor. Prior to their Southern California tour, The Damned are scheduled to perform throughout the UK and Europe, with dates spanning from March 31st to April 20th.
The Damned have been a significant force in the music industry for over four decades, captivating audiences with their genre-defying sound that ranges from punk to new wave and gothic rock. Despite numerous lineup changes, the band’s enduring appeal and influence on subsequent generations of musicians have been demonstrated through their continued touring and recording.
One of their most recent performances in Southern California was at the 2022 edition of Cruel World in Pasadena, where they showcased their punk spirit and ability to remain relevant and innovative to an enthusiastic crowd spanning several generations. Fans eagerly anticipate the band’s return to the region, and the 2023 Southern California tour will kick off on May 20th at The Regency Ballroom in San Francisco.
