The Black Drumset (aka Brian Willey) has spent nine years reflecting, exploring, and building up to their much anticipated sophomore record, Charged. The record is due out on Friday, March 8th and features seven tracks of powerful, cinematic post-punk, centered around tribal drum patterns, polyrhythmic synthesizers, and shoegaze and psychedelic textures. We’re honored to premiere the video for third single “For All That is Yet to Be.”
The video features a beautifully shot swimming sequence, the waves of motion reflecting the track’s hypnotic pulse. Of the video, Brian Willey had this to say:
“The video was a ton of fun to make. We did the whole thing, including preparing the location, shooting, and editing, in 24 hours. It was shot in a 7’ x 15’ pool so it took some work to create the illusion of a larger body of water. The videography was done by Christopher D. Walker, I did the directing and editing, and the concept was developed by myself, Thao Votang and Christopher Walker. I cajoled a few of my closest friends to be the actors.”
