It’s hard not to grow more fond of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Karen O after previewing her first solo record ‘Crush Songs’ over at NPR. The lo fi production is so well done that it is practically an instrument in itself; intimate, vulnerable, and you could swear it was recorded in the 60’s if you heard it playing in a Williamsburg coffee shop. It’s no wonder that David Lynch chose to collaborate with Miss Orzolek on the track ‘Pinky’s Dream’ on his 2011 album ‘Crazy Clown Time’ and perhaps that influence rubbed off.
