Stone Roses break up?

“Don’t be sad it’s over. Be happy that it happened”

Stone Roses Frontman Ian Brown through hugs to fellow band members, and onstage statements has seemingly suggested that The Stone Roses have called it quits for the second time after the Manchester band played the last date of their UK tour in Glasgow.

Last night, near the end of the 90,000 capacity Hampden Park gig, Brown reportedly told the crowd: “Don’t be sad it’s over, be happy that it happened.”

The Roses played a 19-song set at this supposed farewell concert, with a a great deal of tracks culled from their 1989 self-titled debut, including ‘I Wanna Be Adored’ (the set opener), ‘Elephant Stone’, ‘She Bangs the Drums’, and more.  Also included was early single “Sally Cinnamon,” some B-sides, a few Second Coming tracks and 2016 single “All For One” filling out the rest of the set—with the customary closer—’I Am the Resurrection’.

Here are some fan reactions and videos reporting the cryptic breakup announcement from the show:
