Channeling the likes of Elvis Costello, The Rolling Stones, Elton John, The Cars, Split Enz, and The Tubes, San Diego trio The Slashes write post-punk music for the modern era. Their new track “Ripped Genes” is two minutes of raw energy featuring a late 70s to early 80s vibe, boasting a powerful hook and raw, emotive lyrics. The band describes themselves as “Border Goth.”

In 2020 they returned to Singing Serpent Studio with Ben Moore for the anticipated second record, Embalmers Blush. Released on all digital platforms and limited 12” vinyl, being played on Mexican Radio and New York independent radio stations. This was followed by “Valentine Slip” earlier this year.
