Second Skin Debut Drab Majesty Remix of “Eyes Closed”

Following the release of the video for their second single “Eyes Closed”, Los Angeles new-wave duo Second Skin have launched the song into orbit by enlisting the cosmic hand of Drab Majesty’s Deb Demure.

The perfectly mid-80s infused Eyes Closed was originally written and recorded in total isolation during the bleak days of spring 2020. Now the song pulses and reverberates in a dream-pop age sounding more like classic 4AD vinyl reverie than the bright, icy new-wave synth-infused Julian Cope-meets-Howard Jones-meets So-era Peter Gabriel of the original version.

On collaborating with Deb Demure on the track, Second Skin had this to say:

“Our friend Deb Demure instantly connected to Eyes Closed when we played an early version for him in 2020 shortly after the formation of Second Skin …fast forward to 2021 and an idea was formed. While the original song has a driving forward motion Deb had something quite ethereal in mind and set about giving it the classic Drab Majesty treatment. We are thrilled to finally share this stunning rendition of Eyes Closed with everyone.”
