Belgian post-punk and krautrock infused lo-fi aficionados Public Psyche are back with a brand new track “Luminate”, a maelstrom of synthesizers, tape delay, and repetition that is one of the reasons some might describe the band as “slurry dub” or “cesspool punk”, or the “bastard son of The Pop Group, The Fall, and Dirty Beaches”.
“Luminate”, Public Psyche’s first track since releasing 2017’s No New Violence EP, is featured on A Sentimental Mixtape #1. This is the label’s first compilation album, featuring some exclusive and unreleased tracks as well as some older and already released ones, by gloomy and undervalued Belgian music artists both directly and indirectly connected to the label.
The compilation is mastered for tape by Bert Vliegen. Artwork and design is of the hands of Skrew Studio. A Sentimental Mixtape #1 will be released digitally and as a limited cassette edition on April 19, 2019.
