Peter Murphy reschedules 15 night San Francisco residency citing “vocal problems”

Citing vocal chord problems (demonstrated in the video above)  Peter Murphy has made a statement that he must postpone and reschedule his 15-night residency at The Chapel in San Francisco until January of 2018.

Not unlike an Amanda Palmer crowd funding video, Peter Murphy has released a video where the flips through a handwritten statement explaining that he can’t even speak, let alone sing:

“As you can see, I am not allowed to sing or speak for a while, doctor’s orders. I must rest my vocal cords. See you when this is over, Love Peter.”

The concerts have been rearranged slightly, continuing the idea that Peter Murphy would be performing each of his solo albums, with the exception of 2004’s Unshattered and 2014’s Lion.

Notable changes are that 1988’s Love Hysteria and 1989’s Deep each will get a third performance, as well the final shows in the residency have been announced as-Bauhaus performances.

Tickets for those shows, and the additional Love Hysteria and Deep concerts, go on sale Friday—with current tickets will be honored at the rescheduled shows.
