German Post-Punkers HEAR ME OUT Debut Live Session Video for Their “Permanent Thoughts” EP

HEAR ME OUT, an exciting new queer ensemble from Bielefeld, Germany, made a striking entrance onto the music scene in late 2021. During a time of significant change in the music world, they quickly established a unique sound at the crossroads of post-punk and dark indie rock. The band skillfully blends elements from new wave, punk, and alternative music, forging a path that eschews prevailing trends. Fueled by intense passion and raw emotion, Hear Me Out creates music that seamlessly combines vulnerability and strength, captivating listeners with their profound and resonant melodies.

Drawing inspiration from iconic ’80s post-punk groups like The Cure, X, Mission of Burma, and Martha and the Muffins, as well as modern trailblazers such as IDLES, Fontaines D.C., and Interpol, HEAR ME OUT has successfully forged their own unique identity. Their latest EP / mini-album, Permanent Thoughts, signifies a bold, experimental shift while maintaining an irresistible, hook-laden appeal of their previous work. This release masterfully balances melancholy, empowerment, and the occasional spiraling loss of control—a deeply personal exploration in response to both the macro and micro challenges of life.

Permanent Thoughts represents a significant advancement for the band, following two years of intense development in rehearsal spaces and dynamic performances on local stages.
