Numb.er Premiere Stripped Down Post-Punk in the track “Again”

Ahead of an appearance at SXSW, Los Angeles’ Numb.er are sharing with us today a kind of stripped down punk that is barely post in the blistering cut Again.

The track, which is featured on the Jeff Fribourg helmed project’s upcoming debut LP Goodbye, captures the minimalist spirit of early post-punk, sonically an analog to the structure found in the Buzzcocks debut Spiral Scratch, that eventually evolved into Magazine.

This ultimately makes sense, given Jeff Fribourg desire to imbue his work with a sense of architectural composition, layering angular guitar riffs and analog synths over throbbing drums and driving bass, while maintaining hints of his krautrock background from his founding of the band Froth.

Numb.er are featured in the felte/Part Time Punks showcase at SXSW on March 13th, along with Australia’s Death Bells. See tour dates below.

Goodbye is set for release in late May via felte.
