Nine Inch Nails website down—possibly due to high traffic as new album announcement is imminent

[dropcap]Last[/dropcap] Christmas, Trent Reznor announced that we could expect a new Nine Inch Nails album in 2016—an album that would be the follow-up to 2013’s Hesitation Marks. 10 weeks ago on Instagram, in response to a fan’s question about the promised album, Reznor replied:

“2016 is not over yet.”

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone Reznor had this to say about the new album:

“Those words did come out of my mouth, didn’t they?” he says bluntly. Then he feigns surprise. “Oh, yeah, it’s December, isn’t it?” He pauses. “Just wait and see what happens.”

Later in the interview, the Nine Inch Nails frontman was ask about details on the mood of the new record:

“That will be part of the reveal,” he says. “I don’t want to spoil it. If I’m interested in a film, I prefer not to watch the trailer. We live in overstimulated times.”

Today on social media, there are rumblings that a new album announcement is imminent, with the Nine Inch Nails Official Website currently down due to high traffic buckling the server. We will keep you updated when further information becomes available…
