New Order’s “Power, Corruption & Lies” Definitive Edition Box Set out this October

This autumn, New Order are releasing through Rhino Records a “definitive edition” box set of their second studio album Power, Corruption & Lies.

The record, originally released in 1983, will be re-released in a five-disc multi-format box set that will include 13 previously unreleased tracks from the group’s writing sessions and BBC appearances.

The Power, Corruption & Lies: Definitive Edition box set is available to order in several formats such as being pressed on a 180-gram vinyl LP, two CDs, two DVDs, with the inclusion of a 48-page hardback book collecting rare photographs.

Also on October 2nd, four 12-inch singles from the 1983-84 era, “Blue Monday,” “Confusion,” “Thieves Like Us” and “Murder” —will be reissued as well.

The Power, Corruption & Lies box set will include the album, remastered for the first time from the original analog tapes, on both CD and vinyl. The second CD, labeled Extras, includes previously unreleased versions of the album’s songs from the writing sessions for the record and John Peel session outtakes.

The DVDs include several live performances from concerts in 1982 and 1983, as well as TV appearances and the infamous New Order edition of the “Play At Home” documentary made for Channel 4 in 1984, noteworthy for featuring Tony Wilson waxing philosophical in a Hot Tub.

The box set features new art design by Peter Saville, and also includes a 48-page hardback book collecting rare photographs and original text collated by Warren Jackson .

Here’s the full tracklist for the box set below, as well as the individual 12-inch single releases.
