Leftwich is a collaboration between two innovative musicians (Elijah & Lex Leftwich) from Nashville, TN. Being involved in previous projects left both feeling burnt out, but when the couple started making music together while trapped in a snowstorm, shoegaze/dream pop-influenced magic happened, and an epic musical brainchild was born: dreamlike, airy, and lush. They joined forces in 2021 and now proudly announce their debut single, “On A Roll (In The Cold), which combines Lex’s ethereal vocals with Elijah’s textured guitars.
Lex, mysteriously, prefers to leave the song open for interpretation. “The song means whatever you want it to mean,” she says. It has the ethereal nature of Cocteau Twins, with a more rock flavour, bringing to mind the more psychedelic instrumentation of Oasis and Kula Shaker.

“On A Roll (In The Cold)” was mixed by Grammy-nominated producer/mixer Jorge Elbrecht (Japanese Breakfast, Sky Ferreira, Wild Nothing, Tamaryn, Hatchie) and mastered by Grammy-nominated Heba Kadry (Garbage, Beach House, Bjork, Slowdive, Hayley Williams, Deer Hunter, Blonde Redhead, Alex G, Animal Collective, The Mars Volta, Ryuichi Sakamoto).
