Morrissey’s European Tourdates | Plus—Curating a Ramones Greatest Hits Record?

Morrissey may have lost his record label, but he certainly is not lacking in publicity.  Several news sites have picked up a story via the fansite True to You (aka Morrissey’s de facto publicist) that Mozz is curating a Ramones Greatest Hits album.   This seems may seem hard to believe, given that one of Morrissey’s original cantankerous letters was a review submitted to Melody Maker back in 1976 stating that “Ramones are Rubbish”.

Stranger still, Morrissey has also chosen the official sleeve for the Sire/Rhino release…which, uh, seems more appropriate for a record by The Smiths, or perhaps a promo for Mozz’s solo record “Your Arsenal”.

Best of  Ramones sleeve?

Someone must be taking the piss…right?  What’s next, Mozz narrating Cure documentary?  Granted, Morrissey actually does love the Ramones now, stating “my love for the Ramones would out-live time itself.”
