Mark Tighe, founding member and guitarist of post-punk band 1919 has passed away

[dropcap]Mark [/dropcap]Tighe, founding member and guitarist of original Post-Punk 1919 has passed away. There are no additional details regarding his passing at this time. The band were formed Bradford, England in late 1980 by Tighe and vocalist Ian Tilleard—initially calling themselves Heaven Seventeen.

The band released 1 album and 4 singles, and performed a Peel Session in may of 1982.

The band reformed in 2004-5 with a new lineup—releasing the divisive Dark Temple LP, beforing reforming again in 2014 with new vocalist/bassist Rio Goldhammer and performing at Leipzig’s Gothic Pogo Festival on Friday, May 22 2015.
