The Chicago-based trio, French Police, welcome in the new year with a new single, “Club de Vampiros.”
As the project of Brian Flores, the band has been haunting fans with a blend of emotionally wrought post-punk since 2019 and their latest offering is no different. “Club de Vampiros” exudes a melancholy from its undulating synth pads and guitar line as a bouncy bassline carries the song to its end. For fans of darkwave such as Twin Tribes, She Past Away (who they recently opened for), or Stepan i Meduza, French Police’s single captures the seduction of dancing in romantic, cavernous spaces filled with fog and a promise of eternity.
