Alluding to his deeper Gothic nature, along with his daughter Grey, maestro Joshua Strawn of Blacklist, Azar Swan, and Vaura, has conjured a bewitching Neofolk meets Gothic Rock track with his project Lights with Teeth’s summer solstice celebration “Reptiles and Tombstones”, a track that is part Dead Can Dance via Père Lachaise, and part Sisters of Mercy via their second EP, The Reptile House.
The result is a spine-tingling saunter off the beaten path, leading past the mausoleums towards spider-webbed covered alters celebrating the dead whose names have been washed from stone by time, augmented by the contributions by Strawn’s progeny Grey, who along with her background vocal harmonies, lets her youthful musings coalesce into the lyrics.
