And now I see the other side

And now I know and I won’t hide

Glazyhaze, the youthful prodigies of Italian shoegaze and dreampop, craft enchanting melodies that effortlessly transport listeners back to the blissed-out days of the early 90s. Astonishingly, these musical time travelers are a mere 18 years old, their formation tracing back to the year 2021 by Irene Moretuzzo and Lorenzo Dall’Armellina. Drawing inspiration from revered bands such as Pixies, The Breeders, Slowdive, Throwing Muses, and Liz Phair, Glazyhaze have manifested an aural atmosphere that envelopes audiences in a swirling vortex of nostalgia and innovation.

The lyrics to “The Other Side” encapsulate self-discovery and acceptance. The narrator has reached a pivotal moment where they have finally glimpsed “the other side,” a place of clarity and understanding. They are resolute in their decision to conceal their true self no longer, embracing the full spectrum of their emotions. The mention of tears, rage, thoughts, and pain signifies a cathartic release, as they confront and come to terms with their inner struggles. It is a plea for liberation, to shed the weight of scars and pain.

With this song, Glazyhaze beckons listeners to embrace the tenets of sincerity, vulnerability, and love, urging them to traverse uncharted territories in search of liberation. With their emotive melodies and poignant lyrics, this young collective invites us to step into a realm where authentic self-expression reigns supreme, where we can unshackle ourselves from the constraints of conformity and embark on a voyage to the hallowed grounds of self-discovery.

With editing by Francesco Giacomin, the self-directed video embraces the 90s Super-8 aesthetic with gusto, complete with moody shots of the band, and colours that capture the essence of the era. It’s a wonderful throwback.

On the 19th of May, 2023, their long-awaited debut album, “Just Fade Away,” emerged from the creative depths, courtesy of Slimer Records. “Just Fade Away” extends a heartfelt invitation to release the tethers that bind us, urging us to embrace the profound act of acknowledging, accepting, and unabashedly expressing our emotions. In a world that often teaches us to suppress our feelings, branding them as imperfections, Glazyhaze dares to defy societal norms and invites us to bask in the liberating embrace of authenticity.

The meticulous craftsmanship of this album, recorded under the keen supervision of Paolo Canaglia at Il Baito studio, showcases Glazyhaze’s songwriting prowess. With each track meticulously brought to life, the band’s ethereal melodies and poignant lyrics intertwine to create a vivid tapestry of emotional exploration. The immersive sonic landscapes were further refined through the skilled hands of Andrea Volpato at Fox Studio in Seattle, Washington.

“Just Fade Away”  is a profound statement of defiance against the societal constructs that seek to stifle our emotional range. Glazyhaze beckons us to shed the shackles of suppression and to unapologetically embrace the kaleidoscope of feelings that reside within us. In doing so, we embark on a transformative journey where vulnerability is celebrated, where the expression of our innermost selves becomes a radical act of self-empowerment.
