Hailing from Turin, Italy, Paolo Virdis is an enigmatic artist and producer who possesses an uncanny ability to transport the audience to unsettling and often bleak realms, enveloped in ominous soundscapes and ominous undertones.
Virdis’ latest offering, “Something Is Fading Away,” is a haunting composition in the shadowy realm, that explores themes of empathy and the unspoken struggles that plague us. With a mournful air and a mesmerizing rhythm, this ominous and hauntingly gothic-tinged dark sytnh and EBM track is as hypnotic as it is emotive – a stirring invitation to dance amidst melancholic reflections. Virdis is inspired by the work of Nine Inch Nails, Drexciya, and Kraftwerk, amongst others; there are even echoes of Detroit Techno in his sound. Virdis himself performed all instruments and vocals.
“Something Is Fading Away” is out now on all digital platforms. There are two versions to choose from: an instrumental and one with Virdis’s cryptic lyrics, crooned in his trademark baritone.
