In the realm of sacred ceremonies, rituals stand as symbolic gestures that encapsulate transformative moments, offering solace and bridging the chasm between the mortal and the ethereal. Fresh from their haunting descent with “Inferno,” French gothic duo Denuit teases us with the entrancing title track of their forthcoming record, “Ritual.”

“The song’s solitary lyric, ‘ritual,’ is a nod to the very ceremony we held during our wedding,” the band elucidates. “This album is a chronicle of our journey, our union, making it an intimate treasure for us.”

In Denuit’s poetic universe, they summon us to confront and heal our profound scars, all the while exalting love. This therapeutic odyssey propels us towards rebirth, stripped of pretense and ready for new beginnings. With symphonic interludes, Denuit navigates the complex emotional and existential mazes of humanity, always with a hint of optimism. Their live sets metamorphose into ethereal sanctuaries, submerging audiences in their transcendent harmonies. It’s more than just music; it’s an arcane resonance with the unseen and the unknown.

Directed by Denuit, the mesmerizing music video for “Ritual” tells the story of two shadowy figures linked by fate in a cosmic dance, They traverse light and darkness, fire, and reflective surfaces, all underscored by magickal undertones.

Dive into the visual spellbook for “Ritual” below:

The album, Ritual, is a product of Noir Obscur’s production craftsmanship, with Nicolas Cesar at the mixing helm and Bruno Varea (Upload Studio) mastering. Slated for an October 20th, 2023, release across streaming platforms, it signifies a pivotal shift for Denuit as they inaugurate their label, also bearing the name Noir Obscur. All physical merchandise henceforth will bear the Noir Obscur insignia.

Ritual will be released via a CD super jewel case (a limited edition of 100) and a sleek crystal/metal USB encased in a black box (limited to 30 pieces).

Originating from the artistic souls of Ivi Topp and Lis Araignée, Denuit is a testament to their electronic heartbeat. Straddling the clarity of daylight and the allure of dusk, their sound is a fusion of cyberpunk aesthetics and Poe’s melancholic poetry, resulting in a raw, impassioned resonance. Their tracks, sculpted from their deepest sentiments, reflect the multifaceted nature of love and life’s marvels. Their artistry is a tribute to the relentless cadence of human existence.

Central to their distinctive sound is what Denuit dubs ‘Night-Wave.’ This auditory mosaic intertwines the spectral vibes of icons like Siouxsie, Zola Jesus, and Kompromat, creating a phantasmal symphony. The result of this enchanting fusion of sounds? A harmonious blend of shadow and light, a melodic dance between the nocturnal and the supernatural.

Ivi’s enigmatic compositions, accentuated by spectral synths, set the atmospheric tone. Complementing this is Lis’s voice, a chilling echo reminiscent of a banshee’s wail, weaving a tale of two realms and encapsulating twilight’s essence in their mesmerizing tracks.
