Escape from LA and Queerspace Present: An Evening with Geneva Jacuzzi at Don Quixote

On March 22nd, prepare for timewarp into the fifth dimension as Escape from LA and Queerspace team up to present a performance by avant-garde new wave artist Geneva Jacuzzi, known for her enigmatic and unique approach to synth-pop music. The event, set to take place at the iconic Don Quixote venue starting at 9pm, promises to be a celebration of eccentricity, music, and artistry.

Geneva Jacuzzi, a master of lo-fi pop and performance art, has long mystified and mesmerized audiences with her unique blend of music, theatrics, and visual art. Her work is an exploration of retro-futuristic themes, often delving into the realms of sci-fi, fantasy, and surrealism in the vein of Liquid Sky meets the cosmic weirdness of Klaus Nomi.

Geneva initially emerged from the last of the wild beaches in San Diego County; her art form found its direction when she arrived in Los Angeles in 2001. She formed and fronted synth-wave death-disco outfit Bubonic Plague, with members of The Warlocks and The Centimeters. “It was the last era of true weirdness, a scene populated with oddballs, slimers, masochists, sadists, greasers, pyros, witches, hustlers of every kind, danger strangers, cowboys, art dealers, actors, true weirdos, and all the creatures of freakdom,” she says.

The night will also feature live performances by Barcelona’s Italo star Italo Moderni’s Adrian Marth, and LA’s aerobic hi-NRG duo Acid Gymnastics.

Adding to the atmosphere will be DJs Nic Ryan, Jaqck Glam, and Cocteau Twinks.
