French synth-pop act Fragrance. has brought us “Crawling To The Void”, an audio-visual presentation in promotion of the new single taken from his debut album Now That I’m Real.
The track is both melancholic and dissociative with its perfectly sequenced beats, hypnotically lulling the listener into a slow rhythmic dance of sombre beauty.
Lyrically, the song is about being caught in the collapse of someone you love, the act of surrendering your body and soul to someone else’s fire, even if that path is toxic.
The video, directed by Benoît Aubert ( L’A n 2 0 0 0), illustrates perfectly Fragrance’s dreamlike music, with melodies that linger ephemeral in a foglike haze, while a kaleidoscope of luminous imagery consecrates a cathartic choreography enveloped in blissful vertigo.
