Depeche Mode, Kate Bush, Eurythmics, and Radiohead nominated to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame

This year’s nominees are in…

Despite many upsets the past few years that left us scratching our heads, we are once again posting the nominations to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.  This year Kate Bush, Depeche Mode, Eurythmics, The Cars, and Radiohead are on the ballot, as well as MC5, Nina Simone, Bon JoviRage Against the Machine, and The Zombies.

Those who are ultimately selected as inductees will be announced this December—with the ceremony to follow on April 14th are a ceremony Cleveland.

Kate Bush and Eurythmics are first-time nominees, with both Annie Lennox’s and Bush’s legacies as a formidable vocalist and musicians certainly warranting induction.  Depeche Mode are up for a nomination a second time, and given their popularity of their current Global Spirit Tour, it certainly would be a pity if they were passed over again.

Radiohead’s nomination has occurred during their first year of eligibility as acts must have released a single or album in or before 1992 for the 2018 class. In the case of Radiohead they qualify solely on the basis of their iconic single ‘Creep’.

Music fans cast your own ballots at the Rock and Rock Hall of Fame’s website.
