Denuit Defies The Claustrophobic Creatures Of The Night With The Haunting “Zombies”

We live in a house surrounded by zombies,

They try to break the walls,

Our life is an escape attempt.

As the night swathes the world in its sable cloak, a celestial jewel twinkles in the expansive firmament: the moon. Emerging from this twilight canvas, French gothic outfit, Denuit, takes on this lunar mantle, beaming luminous rays into our omnipresent gloom. Though their symphonic phrases wrestle with the existential quandaries of existence and the intricate labyrinth of human emotion, they concurrently interlace their lyrical narrative with threads of hope. The stage metamorphoses into a cosmic refuge; a haven where all souls can unload their weights, entranced in the transcendental melodies of Denuit. Their music does not merely echo in the concert hall, it resonates across the cosmos, uniting us all under its comforting sway.

“Zombies, with its relentless disco pulse and melancholic orchestral strands enveloping the wry vocal tones, serves as a potent allegory for our self-inflicted seclusion within the bewildering confines of our societal labyrinth. As the beat marches on inexorably and the chorus busts into anthemic chant, we are reminded of our own unending dance within the constraints of convention and expectation.

“Zombies is a true story!” the band asserts. “We lived in an anxiety-inducing place, with crazy neighbors. Little by little, this place became our prison. The walls surrounding Lis represent this feeling of oppression. Now we’re living in the countryside, and fortunately all’s well! This was a life experience, even from the worst of situations, we can come to the other side!”

The mesmerizing self-directed visual accompaniment amplifies the sense of confinement, painting a vivid portrait of sleepless nights and simmering frustration. It captures the surreal twilight zone of our pent-up anxieties, effectively reflecting the psychological toll of our self-imposed exile. At times, it suggests, we must endeavor to find our own escape route, our own release from the maze of our making.

Denuit was born from the depths of Ivi Topp and Lis Araignée’s souls. Dwellers of the shadows, scribes of the electronic heartbeat, their music pirouettes on the knife’s edge between daylight’s clarity and the enigma of twilight. Taking inspiration from the stark and captivating allure of cyberpunk aesthetics, along with the melancholic poesy of Edgar Allan Poe, Denuit emerges as a duo pulsating with primal energy. Their music, etched directly from the recesses of their souls, acts as a heartfelt anthem to the labyrinthine dimensions of love and the marvel of existence itself. In essence, it is a sincere sonnet to the endless ebb and flow of the human journey.

At the nucleus of their distinct brew, Denuit births a potent elixir they’ve christened as ‘Night-Wave.’ This mystical blend of sound weaves in spectral traces of influences such as Siouxsie, Zola Jesus, and Kompromat; their essences combining to form a sublime, phantasmal symphony. The result is an intoxicating fusion of darkness and light, a harmonious dance of the nocturnal and the ethereal.

Ivi’s cryptic symphonies emerge through ghostly synths, forming an eerie musical backdrop. Against this, Lis’s voice reverberates, a frost-tinged echo from another realm, resembling the ethereal cry of a banshee in the distant fog. Their existence is an ever oscillating dance between two worlds, capturing the essence of twilight in their hauntingly beautiful compositions.
