Dark synth project Hermidgets tells us “This is Over” in the surreal and dreamy video from his forthcoming LP The Mire.
Ever since Hermidgets discovered that it was possible to bring to life the melodies swimming around his mind by means of a synthesizer and a computer, he has never ceased making music. This is because, at times, as he notes, his creativity has taken upon the form of a physical need.
The video for “This is over” is an all in one sequence shot directed and edited by Hermidgets. There are hints and traces of Depeche Mode’s elegant and sophisticated electronic sound, wrapped in Sigur Ros’s sonic catharsis, and Nick Drake’s lulling and intimate melancholia.
The lyrics reflect the broad interest of their author, being either words picked up here and there or reminiscent of some poem. He calls it “sad music”, but assures us that it will make you feel better than many more cheerful melodies.

“This Is Over” is taken from the seven-track album The Mire, out November 27th, 2020.
