Danish Post-Punk trio The Foreign Resort Explore the American Nightmare in “Hearts Fade Out”

Danish post-punk trio The Foreign Resort explores The American Nightmare vs. The American Dream is their new music video For “Hearts Fade Out”, and along with the premiere of the clip, have also announced North American tour dates in Quebec, Canada, and Austin, Texas.

“Hearts Fade Out” is the third music video to be released from their critically acclaimed album Outnumbered which was released via Artoffact Records in 2019.

About “Hearts Fade out”:

Meet Ana and Joe. Ana is Mexican American, a peaceful independent warrior, choosing love over fear and finding escape in the queer nightlife of Los Angeles. Joe is American, hateful and has turned neo-Nazi influenced by right-wing propaganda in the media.

The Foreign Resort’s latest music video for their song “Hearts Fade Out” is a commentary on the current political climate and the personal consequences of the choices we make. In the video we follow these two existences.

The Foreign Resort’s Mikkel Borbjerg Jakobsen says about the song and the video:

“For sometime now I have been thinking of the fact that the people on the far right, who I would describe as hateful and violent, go home to their families like loving dads and moms when the day is over like everyone else. This dual existence is what “Hearts Fade Out” is about and I think the video captures this message perfectly although in a different angle by showing the lives of Ana and Joe.”

The video was directed by Megan Sutherland who, inspired by the lyrics of the song, wanted to approach the story by presenting two sides, split-screen or united, at two different paces and two very different moods.

Following the video release the Danish post-punk trio returning to North America to perform several dates included shows around the now canceled SXSW Festival, in Austin Texas.
